H&G and Refurbished are key focus categories for eBay. The Electronics vertical is a large part of our GMV and a key element of our trading / go to market activity across our Big 3 geographies.We develop, define and deliver the end to end proposition and experience in our categories in partnership with global product & technology teams, and global marketing. We work closely with brands, retailers and business sellers to bring the right product range and deliver the required customer proposition for our customersWe are looking for a Category Director to lead part of this growing area for eBay, and lead Planning and strategy development across H&G, reporting into a member of the Global Hard Goods Leadership team. You will play a pivotal role in owning and driving the growth for your area of the business, and for creating new and better ways for the organisation as a whole to be successful, ensuring the focus is aligned with our goals and DNA. As part of a newly formed global team that is developing new strategies and ways of working, this individual will play a key role in how we set up our business for next few years.Key responsibilities:Category ownership & lead the New Hardliners business for the UK: Develop innovative programs and to implement growth strategies, manage seller behaviour and maximise operational efficiency to position eBay as the best place for buyers to buy and sellers to sell great productsLead and develop the category, including strategy definition, operational cadences (insights, reporting, trading), relationship with major brands, retailers and business sellersIdentify and source relevant and market leading inventory to support execution of strategy and ensure eBay is the most competitive site for buyers to find great value.Lead and develop the relationship with key sellers, brands and retailers within the portfolio and in line with the category strategy.Work as part of the UK Hard goods leadership team to develop annual strategy and quarterly commercial plans.Grow and develop the individuals in your team to successful drive business results whilst creating an environment of trust, collaboration, motivation and fun.Planning lead & proposition developmentSupport planning for H&G focus category globally. This is a key priority for the global Hard Goods leadership team and is already underway in partnership with the eBay exec team.Lead development of hypothesis, and insights required for strategy development. Partner. with product, insights and analytics as requiredDefinition and sizing of key initiatives based on key insights and co- analytics.Leading sequencing of initiatives across the categories and markets – including identifying capabilities that be stretched across markets and categoriesHard Goods lead for linking into partner teams – e.g. strategy, analytics and insights.Planning lead for Hard goodsHG lead for definition of key metrics consistent with strategy, and partnering with analytics to set-up required dashboards and reportingDrive consistency across markets and categories for Hard goodsYou will have...Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic approachInspiring leader with expertise in technology, ideally in e-commerce, retail and/or consumer facing products is highly desirable.Strong strategic and analytical skills. Ideally also experience and comfort identifying and defining challenges with product experience.Excellent executive presence and ability to communicate clearly and simply.
