These categories are not only among the largest on eBay and core to eBay’s strategic future, but also are actively innovating in the market and at eBay.We are looking to hire a Manager of Strategy and Operations, located in London, UK, who will support the eBay Motors leadership team and play an instrumental role in accelerating growth across the Motors’ portfolio of assets. The role will have both a local and global remit as part of a Global Motors Strategy & Operations team. Specifically, the role will focus on driving growth in the UK Parts & Accessories, Business & Industrial, and Vehicles businesses on ebay.co.uk, while also contributing to global projects for the broader Motors portfolio. The role will utilise data and business case development to develop strategic insights, while ensuring operational excellence in planning, analytics, reporting, and collaboration across a broad cross-functional team. Our key partners include product, marketing, analytics, finance, operations, pricing, and business development, among many others.The role demands a dual mentality: both that of a strategic leader—who has a deep understanding of the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces, can break down tough problems into clear frameworks, operate in ambiguity, and possesses strong data intuition and executive-ready communications—as well as someone who can move quickly and decisively as an embedded operator not afraid to get their hands dirty.ResponsibilitiesBuild and own executive-ready presentations on Motors strategy and operational updatesIdentify and execute opportunities across Motors that require strategic assessmentDrive progress against milestones for key strategic initiativesCreate operational consistency, processes, and alignment across the portfolioOwn tracking and reporting of portfolio health to eBay global leadership teamsEstablish processes and guardrails to ensure operational successEnable market intelligence capabilities to monitor competitive insights, industry trends, and distil Motors-specific implicationsCollaborate with cross-functional partners; ensure alignment with other eBay verticals, other eBay teams, and global initiativesCoordinate and drive global consistency with Global Strategy & Operations teamQualificationsTrack record of strategic development, structured thinking, and ability to prioritise multiple initiativesDemonstrated ability to project manage a group of peers and lead through influenceStrong cross-functional leader who is also recognised as a collaborator and partnerExecutive level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tell a compelling story backed by dataHigh degree of ownership and commitment to resultsSelf-motivated to identify opportunities and challenges in the businessData-driven approach to planning and decision making.
