The world of Comics is vast, exciting and dynamic, fueled by a hobby resurgence in the last 2-3 years. The role has the exciting opportunity to develop the long term vision and strategy for the category, innovating on behalf of our customers, while also participating in strategic oversight of the broader Collectibles vertical. Working with internal and external partners, you will be the hub that connects multiple initiatives to bring Collectibles into the lives of eBay buyers throughout the world.The charter of the Collectibles team is to grow the category by making eBay a trusted and top-of-mind destination for buyers and sellers. In this role, you will evolve the current buyer and seller journey and make it outstanding. This includes understanding our sellers and buyers and their end-to-end experiences. You will monitor and improve performance of these phases by identifying long term gaps and defining priorities to address these gaps.This role requires someone who takes a comprehensive view to problem solving, thinks strategically, and can imagine how the future will shape up and how to best guide eBay to be prepared for these changes. Further, the collectible's category is constantly changing and having a strong personal connection to any collectible category will be helpful.Requirements:Strategic Thinker: Ability to build, articulate to peers and senior leadership, and execute a comprehensive category strategy to position eBay as the preferred marketplace for ComicsCategory Experience: Using customer insights, market data and business performance, develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and overall industry; leverage this understanding to define category vision and differentiated merchandising and marketing strategies Innovation: Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Analytics, and Communications teams to bring new ideas and innovative approaches to our digital experiences to drive customer growth and conversionSelection: Ability to develop a selection plan including optimizing existing sellers/inventory, identifying current selection gaps, and partnering with Business Development to source and onboard new sellersOrganized: Ability to organize the team around outlining key priorities, building a workback plan, and staying on top of key initiative deliverablesLeadership: ability to invest and develop not only the direct team but the broader collectibles team, helping to up-level the talent and think through how to mature business processes, logic, and approachExecution: Strong technical skills necessary to not only develop but complete a clear strategy, with the ability to independently drive key initiatives and the day-to-day business success.
