These categories are not only among the largest on eBay and core to eBay’s strategic future, but are also actively innovating in the market and at eBay.We are looking to hire a Senior Manager of Strategy and Operations, located in Kleinmachnow, Germany, just outside of Berlin, who will support the eBay Motors leadership team and play an instrumental role in accelerating growth across the portfolio. The role will have both a local and global remit. Specifically, the role will focus on driving growth in the German Parts & Accessories and Business & Industrial businesses on ebay.de, while also leading global projects for the broader Motors portfolio. The role will be at the forefront of shaping and driving strategy, while ensuring operational excellence in planning, analytics, reporting, and collaboration across a broad cross-functional team. Our key partners include product, marketing, analytics, finance, operations, pricing, and business development, among many others.The role demands a dual mentality: both that of a strategic leader—who has a deep understanding of the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces, can break down tough problems into clear frameworks, operate in ambiguity, and possesses strong data intuition and executive-ready communications—as well as someone who can move quickly and decisively as an embedded operator not afraid to get their hands dirty.ResponsibilitiesServe as strategic thought leader to the Motors leadership teamBuild and own executive-ready presentations on Motors strategy and operational updatesIdentify and executive against opportunities across Motors that require strategic deep divesProject manage progress against milestones for key strategic initiativesCreate operational consistency and alignment across the portfolioOwn tracking and reporting of portfolio health to eBay global leadership teamsPartner with GMs and Category Managers to manage key budget decisions and impact on P&LEstablish processes and guardrails to ensure operational success in MotorsEnable market intelligence capabilities to monitor competitive insights, industry trends, and distill Motors-specific implicationsCollaborate with cross-functional partners; ensure alignment with other eBay verticals, other eBay teams, and global initiativesQualificationsTrack record of strategic leadership, structured thinking, and ability to prioritize against multiple initiativesDemonstrated ability to project manage a group of peers and lead through influenceStrong cross-functional leader who is also recognized as a collaborator and partnerExecutive level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tell a compelling story backed by dataHigh degree of ownership and commitment to resultsSelf-motivated to identify opportunities and challenges in the businessData-driven approach to planning and decision making.
