About the team: The eBay Global Consumer Insights (GCI) team is seeking a driven, action-oriented, and strategic minded individual to take on the role of Director, Customer Engagement Programs. The person will report to the VP, Global Consumer Insights. We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong market research and consultation background, strong analytical and strategic skill, the ability to distill practical insights from enormous amount of data, and the skill to convey compelling stories for eBay’s senior leadership team. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing a series of customer engagement initiatives/programs that help eBay better understand where to play, how to win, and how to optimize marketing performance. In this role you will: Lead a team of research and insight professionals to deliver high impact consumer insights that drive action Build deeply empathetic and comprehensive understanding of consumers, how to drive growth, while also providing insight into the next generation consumers we will need to reach Develop, maintain and evolve eBay’s proprietary research tools and programs aimed at driving company-wide strategies and actions to drive long-term growth Serve on Consumer Insights & Brand Strategy leadership team to establish vision and priorities for the insights function Analyze research data to create compelling, insightful storylines that illuminate opportunities and threats for the brand Collaborate with global and regional partners throughout the organization to ensure that consumer insights translate into positive business outcomes Author executive level reports and make informed recommendations to key partners and influencers across the company Conduct quantitative and qualitative studies that provide guidance on how to prioritize and win with consumers in key market segments Provide leadership and best practice consultation to a diverse audience of senior leaders across the company The role requires: 12+ years of related work experience in market research and/or customer insights Demonstrated track record for managing teams, inspiring and developing people Strong background in value proposition research, strategic brand positioning and marketing campaign development & measurement Proven skill in shaping partner questions for maximum impact with the ability to translate needs into appropriate research initiatives Exceptional quantitative and qualitative research method design experience Proven ability to distill actionable insights from complex data and explain findings to clients in a digestible and compelling manner Strong verbal communication skills and experience with senior level client presentations and meetings Bachelor’s Degree in market research, statistics, economics or related field. Advanced Degree highly desirable The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.$160,400 - $254,100Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
