This platform runs our entire infrastructure and all the services that come together to form ebay.com.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior GraphQL Architect with experience designing an ecosystem of GraphQL microservices, to join our team of impactful design engineers and architects. The successful candidate will be responsible for working company-wide to help craft GraphQL Federation subgraphs, establish and detail standard methodologies, automate subgraph enrollment workflows, and lead and participate in Spring Boot microservice implementations.Roles/Responsibilities:Lead the efforts on eBay's implementation of a robust GraphQL subgraph network using a mix of Apollo Federation 1 and 2 subgraphs. Collaborate with other architects, developers, and product managers to define API specifications and requirements. Develop and maintain GraphQL schema definitions, resolvers, and directives. Establish standard processes around GraphQL usage across the company, including solutions which allow for a fast delivery with incremental progress on quality, using Agile design principles. Strong advocate for code design quality and performance. Design solutions to automate and scale GraphQL Federation adoption for hundreds of services. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to subgraph orchestration, field resolution and complicated query plans.Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 12+years of experience in software architecture and design, including demonstrated ability in building service API'sMust have a strong understanding of microservices architecture and API design principles, including experience with GraphQL and one of the following: GraphQL Federation Gateway or Router, StitchQL, and/or GraphQL Mesh.Should have strong knowledge of one of these languages: GraphQL Java, Netflix DGS, Apollo GraphQL Server, SPQRConsistent track record of delivering scalable APIs with excellent communication and collaboration skillsExpert in Apollo Federation v2 and in software design principles, with practical experience in applying the principles to incrementally refactor legacy codebases.Strong practical knowledge of Spring, Spring boot, Node JS, and an authority in one or more these languages: C++, Java, Kotlin.#LI-AC1#LI-HybridBenefits:Benefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
