Advertising is also amplifying eBay’s ecommerce by providing a tool for our sellers to move inventory and for buyers, by surfacing high quality items.Team Role:This team focuses on building data / ML services for our advertiser sellers, to guide them ways to optimize for their ad budget and goals, for example by recommending the right inventory, keywords, budget, bid and audiences to apply for their campaigns, and eventually create campaigns automatically for advertisers. This is a relatively new area but with a very high business potential and need. It would allow you to work with massive amounts of data, and use a variety of data science techniques.Come and help us blow away the boundaries of e-commerce through AI!Responsibilities:Work with Data Scientists, Engineers, and multi-functional teams to produce end-to-end production-ready solutionsAnalyze Big Data to produce actionable insightsDevelop solutions for large scale problems in eBayProvide technical leadership and mentoring to other team membersTranslate business problems into Machine Learning problemsBuild quick prototypes and do preliminary explorations to decide on feasibility and directionRequirements:MS or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience5-8 years (with PhD) or 8-12 years (with MS) of related work experienceExperience in NLP, ML and statistical modelingExperience with large data sets and related technologies, e.g., Hadoop and Spark. Knowledge of SQL is preferred.Excellent understanding of machine learning algorithms. Strong programming skills in Python, Scala or JavaExperience in solving problems using data science, building practical solutions, and deploying models into production for evaluation#LI-AH2The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.$149,200 - $234,850Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
