What we work on here impacts the lives of millions every day.Team RoleWe are looking for a Senior AI/ML Technical Leader - Recommender Systems & Personalization who will drive our personalized recommendations and machine learning technology stack forward to power nextgen eCommerce and push the barriers on scalability, availability, performance and innovation. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Machine Learning approaches, data pipelines, and building scalable backend applications. You will oversee aspects of the software lifecycle : architecture, design, development, testing and experimentation. You have demonstrated successful executions of large scale applications with a deep understanding of technology, and solved challenging customer facing problems.What will you do?Define technical direction for the team, along with new tech adoption and innovationOperate as an end-to-end Technical Lead for high impact product initiativesArchitect and implement scalable solutions meeting business needsPartner effectively with peers from cross functional teams to build and deliver product solutions. Influence senior leadership within the organization and across eBayHire top talent, coach and mentorDevelop domain expertise and apply that to solving product challengesUse best practices to write clean, maintainable code for the project, and create a high performant delightful experience for customersJob RequirementsBS/Master’s Degree or Equivalent with 12+ years of software design and relevant experienceExpertise with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Flink, and KafkaExpertise in building large scale distributed systems and using open source technologiesHands-on experience in Java, Web technologies, RESTful Services, Design Patterns, DatabasesExecute with ease under ambiguity and adapt to new challenges. Have a constant desire to learn and improveExcellent knowledge in practicing OOAD, architectural and design patterns, open source platforms, frameworks, technologies and software engineering methodologiesProven results oriented person with a delivery focused in a high fast-paced and dynamic environmentExperience with scrum or other agile software development methodology#LI-AH2The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.$168,400 - $262,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
