As a part of the app management engineering team, the ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver the platform and contribute to upstream open source projects. The candidate will be working on building a very resilient distributed system at eBay’s edges that covers developing, deploying, and operating applications on Kubernetes with a focus on the application developer and application operator experience.We are on a mission to build a software defined infrastructure that builds, manages, scales and heals with our business growth. We provide autonomy, we expect proficiency and collectively we help our purpose.Primary Responsibilities:Provide customer support for developers to use cloud infrastructureDevelop and advance the capabilities of our highly reliable and available cloud services - Compute, Network and StorageOwn the services from its creation to decorum with development, test, deploy, monitor and scaleConceive new insights to problems and take them to market through rapid prototyping, validation, iterative development and continuous test and deploymentChallenge yourself, enrich in an environment of like-minded engineers and most importantly have fun!Requirements:B.S/MS/PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.8+ years of industry experienceSolid foundations in computer science - data structures, logical thinking, algorithms, space-time complexities, Operating Systems etc.  Demonstrable experience in solving problems in the areas of distributed systems at scale preferably at Systems level (Application-level experience with systems orientation is also welcome) - optional if you are a recent graduate.Experience working in Cloud/IaaS - compute/network/storage, especially on OpenStackProgramming languages - Go, Python or JavaExperience on Docker or Kubernetes is a plusExpertise in Linux Kernel, Networking stacks is a plusBenefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day.
