Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.  Role Summary:     In this role, you will be part of the team that develops automated test systems for Rivian’s electronic control units (ECUs) including Level 3+ ADAS, telematics, infotainment, battery management, and vehicle control systems. Our team’s solutions include internal-facing software, low-level firmware, data management platforms, and custom electromechanical hardware. These solutions get deployed internally within Rivian and at external labs and contract manufacturing facilities.   You will be an individual contributor with a high-impact role at the interface between test automation software and data. You’ll work on developing and maintaining test automation software frameworks and data pipelines for systems deployed at Rivian and externally. You’ll be the expert at building software solutions that speed up the development of test sequences and the searching of relevant test data.       Responsibilities:     Own the Python-based test automation software frameworks and tools for hardware testing and data management Own the data pipelines and infrastructure to support hundreds of test systems deployed across the globe Build web dashboards and search tools so that teams can find relevant test data quickly and intuitively Apply software engineering rigor and best practices to hardware testing, including CI/CD, unit testing, automation, etc. Work with cross-functional software and hardware teams to create requirements and standards for test sequences and deployments Support deployment and commissioning of distributed systems across Rivian and at external sites     Qualifications:     BS/MS or equivalent work experience in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields     12+ years of relevant working experience    Expert at developing automation frameworks in Python that leverage asynchronous processes and distributed communication   Hands on experience using the Databricks platform, writing notebooks (Python, SQL), processing Parquet files, etc.   Experience developing web user interfaces with Python   Experience with machine-to-machine network protocols such as MQTT Extensive experience with setting up infrastructure for source code control, unit testing, CI/CD, etc. using GitLab or similar tools Experience working on Engineering systems for the automotive, semiconductor, aerospace, or related industries     Nice To Have:     Experience with the following Python libraries and frameworks   Experience writing software that directly communicates with instrumentation   Experience with AWS    Familiarity with LabVIEW or C       Equal Opportunity Rivian is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
