Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

As a member of our Systems Engineering team you will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering, and will help define the processes by which we validate, implement, and verify requirements for our first certified aircraft as well as ensure that the system development activities are maintained and followed. You will act as a multi-disciplinary interface between systems engineering and product teams.
What you’ll do
Support the definition, implementation, and adoption of engineering processes with company leadership
Collaborate with engineering teams and departments to incorporate processes and procedures in their product development activities
Interface with the quality and safety organizations to ensure their processes are fully integrated in the overall aircraft development strategy
Conduct internal assessments to ensure system development activities and processes are conducted in accordance with development plans
Support supplier oversight activities related to system development process
Participate in process definition, trade studies, and mutli-disciplinary integration problem solving
Support the product lifecycle engineering team in designing and optimizing tool-based solutions to implement engineering processes
Evaluate existing tools and processes to identify improvements
Contribute to improving internal processes and tools
What you need:
BS Degree in engineering or related field
3+ yrs of experience in developing and certifying one or more aerospace systems
Full understanding of the Systems Engineering standard used in civil aviation and the underlying reasons and purpose for each process and activity
Experience on one or more civil aviation programs with a Systems Engineering process used for certification credit
Experience defining and implementing engineering processes
Collaborative mindset
Great organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication
Passion for learning and problem solving
Ability to travel 25%
Bonus Qualifications:
Familiarity with the regulations and standards applicable to transport and general aviation aircraft
Experience developing highly integrated aerospace systems
Experience defining custom features or proposing improvements to requirements management and model based systems engineering tools
Experience defining and applying configuration management strategies
Experience using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models and tools
Knowledgeable on SAE ARP4761
Experience working on type certification of an aircraft from start to finish under 14 CFR Part 23/27 or equivalent regulations
Background in RTCA DO-178C and DO-254

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
