Senior UX Engineer

We are a team of doers, seasoned engineers, hackers and builders, working on the future of streaming data. Funded by premier investors including GV and Lightspeed, Redpanda is building the streaming data platform for developers. We’re evolving streaming beyond the Apache Kafka® protocol into a unified “engine of record” that delivers a categorical reduction in complexity, wicked-fast performance, onboard Wasm transforms, and transparent tiered storage that gives consumers access to both real-time and historical data from a single API.   About the Role: We are looking for a Senior UX Engineer to become part of our cloud team, working on internal and external user-facing products including our design system, UIs, API, and CLI.  Your role will be essential in building a world-class user experience across Redpanda Cloud. You Will:  Work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to build and deliver high impact, high quality and seamless user experiences Proactively identify technical project opportunities and process improvements to help the team uphold standards and deliver better experiences for users Write, review, and ship well-tested and maintainable front-end software that meets operational requirements Participate in on-call rotations You Have:  5+ years experience building world-class user flows, with expert attention to details when solving user pain points Passion for upholding standards and consistency for user flows, interactions and visuals across multiple user surface areas from UI to CLI Focus on forward-planning, pragmatic translation of designs to code Experience writing production-ready, performant, and well-tested software Expert knowledge in Typescript, javascript frameworks such as React, and style libraries Solid experience working with testing frameworks (e.g: Jest, Playwright, Cypress) Experience building and maintaining accessible design systems with industry standard tools (e.g: Storybook, Chromatic) Comfortable working with a 100% distributed engineering team, collaborating on GitHub Please highlight if applicable to you:  Design experience Experience building SaaS platforms Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure products. Experience writing Go   U.S. base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $212,000 (CO, TX) and $200,000 - $245,000 (CA, NY). Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
