About the Team We are looking for someone to transform the way we communicate and roll out initiatives and programs for our Opendoor teammates. This person has a deep understanding of and expertise in Internal Communications – he or she knows the importance of communicating well in a hybrid work environment and understands that what you say is only as powerful as what your audience hears. Through a deep understanding of Opendoor’s voice, brand, and culture, this role will have a seat at the table helping to bring our mission and vision to life. Successful candidates should have a combination of great storytelling and creative abilities, a willingness to explore and experiment with Internal Communications techniques and platforms, and exceptional relationship management skills. They should also be accomplished project managers with a track record of delivering successful communications outcomes. In addition, this team member will also be an integral member of the wider communications efforts, contributing to other communication initiatives, including events support, metrics tracking, analysis, copy editing, and message development. Role Responsibilities: Draft and create high-quality content to support our business strategy and internal programs through meaningful and creative communication  Provide strategic communications counsel and guidance to internal teams at Opendoor, building strong relationships across divisions and levels  Own the content strategy, editorial calendar, and execution of the weekly company newsletter that includes both critical business and product updates, as well as fun culture content Support content, promotion, and logistics of Opendoor’s internal events (all-hands meetings, guest speakers, cultural events, etc.)  Maintain the internal communications content calendar across all channels (Slack, intranet, newsletter, etc.) to keep employees informed of company news, business performance, employee programs, and more Create, copy edit and proofread all intranet content ensuring communication is concise, visually appealing, and comprehensive. Create engaging ways to effectively communicate information within the company and motivate employees  Bring a creative, fresh perspective to storytelling across all internal channels, with a specific emphasis on how to best utilize digital communications for a distributed workforce (i.e. video, etc.)  Test, track, analyze, and report on relevant statistics and conversion rates to establish benchmarks, measure success, and continuously improve Skills Needed: 8+ years of internal, corporate and/or executive communications experience  Genuine communications savvy – you must have strong copy-writing and editing skills; as well as strong digital content generation skills with experience communicating to a broad employee population Strong project management skills – you must be able to organize work in a methodical and rigorous manner, but equally comfortable in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment Highly strategic – you must have the ability to think beyond the tactical day-to-day and translate strategy into effective storytelling narratives   Excellent relationship management – you must be able to build strong rapport with stakeholders across various teams A keen attention to detail – from email copy to distribution lists to slides, you need to be able to catch the slightest discrepancies and ensure seamless content and execution that matches our Opendoor brand assetic  Design and presentation skills – you must be proficient in using Google Slides to present ideas and bring stories and concepts to life (experience working with Canva and other design tools a plus) Open and ready for constructive feedback  Bonus Points if: Video editing experience Graphic design experience Real estate industry knowledge/experience a plus Location: Remote roles in the US are available in all states EXCEPT Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, or any US Territories.  Compensation: The base salary range for this position in Colorado, Connecticut, Washington, and New Jersey is $148,000 - $225,000yr, and in California and New York City is $148,000 - $225,000/yr. Base salary may vary depending on relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.
