Creative Technologist

Adept is building a machine learning model that can interact with everything on your computer. We are solving open problems in AI in order to train a neural network that knows how to use every piece of software we use in our lives – all in service of building our product, a natural language interface to your computer. If we succeed, Adept will enable your computer to do anything that we can put into words. We’ve recently raised a $350M Series B led by General Catalyst and Spark, on top of a $65M Series A in 2022 with Addition and Greylock. For more information, check out our blog !     Design at Adept is a multidisciplinary group that uses prototyping and design to explore and define Adept’s products. This requires us to define new interaction principles that leverage (and contribute to) generally intelligent foundation models – this is a greenfield area for interaction design.   Our focus is on people and how our products can positively impact them, and the world around them.   We are looking for a creative, technically experienced designer/engineer to join the team and help define our future products. Skills you'll bring A passion for how people engage with technology Comfort with engaging in broad exploration of an undefined space Demonstrated use of using prototyping with code as a key tool to uncover knowledge and insights and to ultimately define product design (aka thinking through making) Ability to prototype both quickly and scrappily, as well as creating polished and production-fidelity prototypes Expertise in the front end web development and deployment toolchain to execute the above Ability to collaborate closely with other designers and product team members Excitement in collaborating with research and engineering teams on product ideas Portfolio demonstrating solid interaction design skills Ability to present work in an engaging way that sparks excitement for further collaboration and execution across the company   Additional qualifications: Interest in and prototyping with language models is a plus This role will report to  Basil Safwat .     The pay range for this position in California is $150,000- $200,000yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
