CLEAR’s Hardware Integrations team is responsible for building and maintaining an edge software platform to support CLEAR’s member-facing biometric experiences. We ensure CLEAR is always using the latest and greatest hardware platforms and are always looking for new innovative ideas to make our member experience better. We are seeking a strategically-minded, technology-focused, and customer-centric software development leader. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the team in our platform's design, development, testing, and deployment. A successful candidate will have strong, well-established software development, communication, and project management skills, and be motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. What you'll do: Architect, design, implement and maintain embedded software in Python, C/C++, and JavaScript Lead a talented team of engineers, EMs, and PMs to deliver new features and improvements to our core kiosk products Articulate risks and benefits of different engineering approaches to stakeholders Lead architectural choices and actively participate in the team’s decision-making Own and maintain hardware (document, fingerprint, iris, camera, etc) system engineering specifications including design, development, integration, testing, and production support Gain knowledge and experience working on regulated products Define, characterize, evaluate, influence, test, and deploy new hardware How you'll measure success: Drive engineering excellence by contributing to code quality, reviews, and coverage Foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics Maintain a competitive landscape portfolio of various biometric module and subsystem partner technologies What you're great at: 7+ years of experience in understanding all aspects of software engineering, including coding, maintenance, architecture, and design 3+ years of experience leading projects to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines Understand object-oriented design fundamentals and knowledge of relevant modern design patterns A successful history of leading software development projects on time and managing tech debt Experience with Agile methodologies is required Strong written and verbal communication skills Deep knowledge of one or more programming languages and their supporting frameworks, design patterns, and best practices Curious about technology and believe in constant learning Up-to-date with technology trends How You'll be Rewarded: At CLEAR we help YOU move forward - because when you’re at your best, we’re at our best.
