WHY WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU: Our business is growing rapidly, resulting in the addition of hundreds of new enterprise customers. We’re looking for an experienced leader to help mentor and grow our Deployed Engineering team. Deployed Engineers partner closely with our largest customers, helping them build amazing apps on the Retool platform. The ideal candidate for this role thinks strategically about assisting our customers while empowering our Deployed Engineers to make it all happen. DEPLOYED ENGINEERING AT RETOOL:  Deployed Engineers are responsible for implementing, growing, and retaining Retool’s customers. We’re highly technical, customer-centric, and we take a solutions-first mindset. We work side by side with our customers to help them build Retool applications, identify new use cases, and improve the Retool product. Our work is different each day — from leading customer training sessions, to helping a customer build a business-critical tool. We leverage our technical expertise and relentless curiosity to help our customers transform how they build business-critical software. As a leader on the Deployed Engineering team, you will be responsible for building this team. WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH: As a Deployed Engineer Manager, you’ll be working directly with customers to get their use cases activated and live. Through that journey you’ll work cross-functionally with Sales Managers, CSM Managers, Product Managers, and Engineering Managers, among others. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Manage and grow a team of Deployed Engineers. Work to establish clear definitions of performance and the associated metrics. Help the team build their skill sets and careers.  Establish a vision for the organization and be an influential voice that helps guide the strategic direction of the wider go-to-market teams. Help evolve our implementation methodology and service offerings as we continue to operationalize the business. Define a seamless and effective pre to post sales handoff to ensure that customers are set up for long term success. Represent the voice of the customer back to our product and engineering leaders to help shape our product strategy and direction.  Be an escalation point and executive sponsor for customers as they encounter technical problems and opportunities. Interview and hire the deployed engineering team and other cross-functional roles. THE SKILLSET YOU'LL BRING: Strong engineering background, preferred in fields like computer science, software engineering, data science, or data engineering Strong written and verbal communication skills  7+ years of experience in a customer-facing role 3+ years of experience managing a high-functioning team Ability to take on open-ended problems in unstructured environments Ability to think on your feet and solve problems during calls with technical customers Strong knowledge of SQL, Javascript, and APIs (REST, GraphQL, and gRPC) Retool offers generous benefits to all employees.
