The Challenge
The AR Collections Manager will play a key role within the Billing & Collections team and broader Finance organization to maximize collection activities of past due receivables. Reporting to the Director, Global Billing & Collections, you will manage the cash application process and support the BPO collections team managing their performance. You will work closely with the Director to help define and execute collection strategies, create and maintain KPIs, and report on AR aging and cash collection performance.
Your Mission
Manage and improve collections and A/R Aging functions with an eye for reducing delinquencies and creating scalable operational processes and practices.
Manage performance for a small BPO collections team; coach and train team as needed on policies and processes as they are developed and implemented.
Conduct regular AR meetings, training and education both to the AR team and other key departments.
Assist collection agents with collection activities in difficult cases and recommend solutions.
Investigate, resolve, and respond to escalated customer issues in addition to general escalated issues with appropriate partner functions, business unit management, and/or support functions.
Create measurable KPIs and monitor to ensure the team is hitting cash collection targets, holding the team accountable and coaching to improve metrics.
Actively seek solutions to customer and sales needs, communicate trends to leadership, and suggest innovative solutions on behalf of the customer experience and general AR related internal processes/tasks.
Work cross functionally to ensure effective communication, execution, and adherence to established company policies and procedures as they relate billing and collections.
Audit delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad-debt status to account.
Prepare regular analysis of the AR aging and collections status of customer accounts and provide cash collection target updates to leadership.
Monitor AR aging and take appropriate action to ensure payments and adjustments are being applied timely as well as accounts are being written off as needed.
Manage the cash app process ensuring that cash is applied accurately and timely; provide recommendations to improve the process and provide daily cash updates.
Assist with building out processes and procedures for collections and creating SOPs.
Provide departmental support as deemed necessary.
Provide timely reports for month-end reporting, regular management reports and ad-hoc data and metrics as needed by leadership.
You Are
10+ years strong collections experience.
5+ years directly managing a collections team including hiring and managing performance.
Exceptional problem-solving, communication & leadership skills.
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail with demonstrated ability to effectively set and manage multiple conflicting priorities.
Successful track record of partnering with cross-functional teams; taking feedback and responding to and resolving concerns.
Professional attitude and exceptional interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment and communicate with all levels of the organization.
Ability to contribute creative and impactful ideas that will shape the department and provide clear direction to all team members.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced excel knowledge.
Experience with Salesforce, JIRA and SaaS billing solutions a plus as.
Experience working in and pulling data from multiple SaaS and ERP systems.
Position must work in US hours in EST time zone.
