The opportunity ngrok is seeking a passionate and highly-motivated Field CTO to lead our sales engineering team and be a trusted advisor for our sales, product and engineering teams. In this role, you will support strategic sales opportunities, help shape the direction of engineering and product priorities, and evangelize ngrok’s solutions with customers, and at industry events. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable in both a business and technical context, interacting with executives and talking shop with technical audiences. Responsibilities Leverage industry knowledge and expertise to establish relationships with customer C-suite executives and be a public spokesperson for ngrok Partner with our sales team to understand the needs of our customers, strategize on how to navigate and accelerate winning sales cycles, and craft compelling narratives and GTM strategies Collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams to provide feedback from the meetings and public events as well as present the roadmap and strategic decisions to customers Work closely with product marketing to spread awareness and support pipeline building via webinars, roundtables, tech meetups, conferences, events, white papers and blogs Skills 10+ years of pre-sales engineering experience in the cloud infrastructure space Ability to interact with and influence senior executives within the Fortune 1000 Experience in customer-facing roles explaining technical and strategic concepts Prior experience in a startup with a passion for winning, big challenges, technology and a good sense of humor A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols (e.g TCP, HTTP, HTTPS, TLS, etc) Familiarity with networking concepts including VPN, DNS, IP addressing, and Routing Excellent relationship management, customer service, and communication skills in a variety of forms (written, live chat, conference calls, in-person) All candidates must be US-based, and legally authorized to work in the United States. Benefits Compensation for this role depends on level, but we provide a competitive mix of salary and equity. We provide a 401(k) with a 100% match up to 3% of your salary and a 50% match up to another 2%. We provide healthcare, dental, and vision with premiums fully covered on the base plan for employees. Half of premiums are covered for dependents. We also include long term disability, short term disability, and a term life policy at no cost to employees.
