Our headquarters are located in San Francisco and we have additional offices in Knoxville, TN and New York City with employees working remotely in AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, LA, MA, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT , VA, WA, WI . Position Overview:
Reporting to the CEO, the SVP of Human Resources will oversee all human resource areas including talent acquisition, performance, compensation, professional development, DEIB, compliance, employee relations and culture. You will ensure Verana Health builds a resilient culture of opportunity, coupled with strong managers and a mission-driven value proposition for employees. You will have the opportunity to have a deep impact developing much needed programs, specifically around manager development. You will act as a coach and sounding board for the executive team and act as an advisor and thought-leader to the CEO.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
● Create a people strategy that aligns with the business strategy; define and develop systems and infrastructure for talent to enable and sustain a thriving, results-driven and collaborative culture.
● Act as a key advisor to the CEO and as a critical contributor on the executive team. Provide thoughtful and strategic counsel on matters involving people, talent, and culture.
● Create a collaborative, inclusive culture that reflects Verana’s organizational values.
● Develop and implement compensation and benefits plans to achieve Verana’s strategic
objectives.
● Recruiting and hiring exceedingly high caliber talent across the US and in Verana’s three offices: San Francisco, New York City, and Knoxville - through maintaining an active network of professionals and industry relationships.
● Lead and implement various projects to further people strategy while possessing a willingness to handle day-to-day, tactical HR functions and duties.
● Manage the 401(k) Committee: partner with SageView (co-fiduciary) and Empower (recordkeeper) to maintain the health and compliance of the Verana Health 401(k) plan.
● Manage the Compensation Committee: partner with the CEO to build meaningful presentations for the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis. Build relationships with Board members to make use of their depth of experience to guide the growth of Verana as an employer.
● Lead employee communications, including training, announcements, policy, and organizational change. Strong written communication skills required.
● Collaborate to create a strong employer brand and image of the organization as an exceptional place to work.
Basic Requirements:
● The person in this role will be on the ground in our San Francisco office and we hope will quickly become a trusted partner to all of Verana’s teams, establishing a strong and collaborative corporate culture, and effectively managing a high-performing People and Culture team.
● Prior experience leading the human resources function for a dynamic startup, strong preference for experience in SaaS/DaaS organizations.
● The P&C function is highly data driven; demonstrable ability to leverage technology to better understand and evaluate people data across the organization and across the employment lifecycle.
● 12+ years of experience, including managing a distributed team. Bonus Experience:
● Experience building culture in a hybrid team with both a strong in-office emphasis and a majority remote demographic.

We pay based on a market-based approach, supported with robust data and in alignment with the compensation of our existing team. We construct our compensation ranges based on the US national average but your pay may vary depending on your location and the cost of living index for that geographic area. In determining an offer, base salary will also be based on experience, qualifications, skills and market conditions. Please note pay ranges for major metropolitan areas may be different. National Pay Range $255,000 — $345,000 USD
