BizOps at Valon The BizOps team is a small, centralized team that sits at the intersection of nearly every other department at Valon. They not only help shape business strategy but also own key cross-functional projects. This team works closely with various departments across the company like Product, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Operations to drive efficiency, increase revenue, scale our business, and ensure the business is heading in the right direction. About the Role The Head of BizOps will lead the BizOps team and play a key role in ensuring that Valon continues to succeed as the business grows rapidly.  You will engage closely with the CEO, COO, and the rest of the management team at a strategic level. We’re looking for someone who can deeply understand the business to prioritize various company objectives, identify opportunities for growth and efficiency, and develop and execute strategic initiatives that will drive the company's success. The right candidate is a strong generalist that not only can think deeply about the company’s strategy, but can also roll up their sleeves to execute on special initiatives. This role requires someone who can forge their own path without clear guidance, tackle complex problems, own processes end to end, work cross functionally, and help set the strategic path at Valon. Responsibilities Lead and manage the BizOps and Analytics teams Partner with the management team to develop and ensure alignment of business strategy Own the company’s strategic planning and business performance measurement Define, build, and measure goals, metrics, and reporting for the company, management team, board, investors, and partners Scope and own top-priority cross-functional projects and special initiatives that that do not fit directly within the scope of existing teams in order to impact company P&L meaningfully Ensure that the BizOps team is high-performing, high-impact, and high-leverage and can flex into various projects as needed by the business Ideal Background 8+ years of relevant experience at a tech startup and/or management consulting firm Strong leadership and management experience, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams Experience developing and executing business and operational strategy in a high-growth environment Experience working at an operations company strongly preferred Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive business decisions Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with other teams Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry is a plus, but not required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or related field 5+ years of experience in operations, consulting, or related field Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive business decisions Excellent communication and collaboration skills Must be open to travel to Valon HQ in New York City Benefits List  What we can offer:  Compensation: competitive salary with a meaningful stake in the company via equity and our performance bonus program and 401k plan  Health & well-being: we’ll invest in your physical and mental well-being with comprehensive medical, dental, & vision benefits, One medical membership, and Talkspace to provide mental health support Food & meals: in-office snacks and drinks, and $400 monthly stipend towards your lunches or groceries  Commuter benefits: We offer pre-tax deductions for public transportation, rideshare services, and parking expenses to make your commute more affordable and convenient.
