Some of the problems your team will tackle include R&D on sophisticated recommender systems, improving and building the next generation embeddings from rich interaction data, knowledge graphs, textual data, etc., building production models and pipelines for content and understanding the use of NLP for downstream applications like cold starting, helping our studio partners determine what kind of movies/shows they should produce next, and much more. This candidate needs to be a strong leader to help build out the team and create a culture of mathematical rigor, experimentation as well as efficient & effective iteration. Your Background: MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field. PhD preferred 5+ years hands on industry experience in an ML related role 2+ years of experience leading and managing an ML team Hands-on experience with the following areas: recommender systems, deep learning, natural language processing, non-linear optimization, learning to rank, etc. Ability to easily go from idea to working prototype in Python and/or Scala.
