About the Role:
At Tubi, we bring best-in-class user experiences to millions of users across hundreds of devices, including gaming consoles such as XBox and PlayStation, Smart TVs, cable boxes, blu-ray players and set-top boxes. Our Front End team spearheads our multiple platforms, from Web to OTT device and is looking for an experienced and challenge-hungry Senior Front End Engineer to join the team. This is the high impact role where you will see the visibility and direct impact of your work towards company revenue and user growth. Our team uses our proprietary SDK, written in React & Javascript to quickly ship innovative TV viewing experiences to our users.
Responsibilities:
Writing highly performant rendering code that can work on low-spec devices with as little memory usage as possible
Building innovative product features to help our users discover and consumer content
Working on our open source shared UI components library
Improving the video playback experience across different platforms and utilize innovations in browsers such as PWA (Progressive Web Apps) where possible
Your Background:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience
5+ years of industry experience
Exceptional knowledge of Javascript, React and HTML5/CSS
A passion for continuously shipping quality code with good test coverage
Working understanding of browser internals, including networking and how the rendering cycle works
Previous experience with video and video playback will be good plus
