We are seeking a talented and experienced Cloud Data Platform Architect to modernize and transform how Tripadvisor Group leverages and treats data across all of our brands, starting with brand Tripadvisor. In this role, you will assist in designing, implementing and supporting large-scale data implementations across AWS and other cloud environments. Other duties will include cloud solution architecture for various applications, streamlining cloud data operations, and coding. What you’ll do: Lead the enhancement our cloud data capability and practice by creating and implementing cloud data architecture patterns Help define and implement our Data Mesh practice Develop technical specifications and architectures for new platform features and products Research and propose technologies, architectures, and trends that will elevate and optimize our cloud data practice, treatment and capability in a multi-cloud configuration Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand solution requirements and identify architectural patterns that align with business goals Define and enforce data and engineering best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables Participate in the hiring and onboarding process for new team members Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical direction and leadership.   What we are looking for: 12+ years of experience of commercial software development Strong knowledge and practical experience in AWS. AWS certification is desired. Experience with JVM language(s), Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, and Snowflake is a plus Knowledge and experience in GCP or Azure is a plus Deep understanding of data analytics, data visualization, machine learning, event-driven and lambda architectures Demonstrated excellence participating on cross functional teams in fast-paced environments, both in terms of technical leadership and hands-on coding Excellent ability to break down complex problems into simple solutions Willingness and ability to take on new technologies Strong analytical skills and desire to design clean, correct and efficient solutions Proven that you are a leader who prioritizes, communicates clearly, and partners effectively with both technical and non-technical employees Strong Sense of ownership, urgency and pride in your work Excellent command of tools and expertise for troubleshooting production issues Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.   We strive to create an accessible and inclusive experience for all candidates.
