Details About the Program Our program kicks off on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 and concludes on/around Friday, August 25th, 2023.  This is a paid internship. The hourly rate will be $18 per hour. Interns will be expected to work a full-time schedule (40 hours), Monday through Friday.  This program will be on a hybrid working schedule. You will be expected to come into the office on certain days. Being an Intern on the Product team  means being a part of a team that’s working every day to find simple and delightful ways to help shoppers discover new styles and find the perfect product. You’ll get to do research that will impact the way people shop with iconic brands (like Nike!), hone your research storytelling skills by sharing your work with teams across Stylitics, and grow your research skills and network in the vibrant worlds of retail and technology in New York City. What You Will Do Assist Product Designers with creating and carrying out research plans to test and iterate upon designs Act as a research assistant to the UX Researcher: helping conduct interviews, journey mapping, and design workshops Synthesizing the results of your research and presenting actionable insights to cross-functional team members and key stakeholders   Share stories about your findings across the company to help create a shared understanding of the shoppers we serve Must-Have Qualifications Must be in your junior or senior year (part of the spring or winter 2023 graduating class) if pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. We’re also open to anyone currently pursuing a Master’s degree Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree, majoring in one of the following: Human-Computer Interaction Human-Centered Design Information Science Human Factors Psychology Anthropology Sociology Behavioral and Decision Sciences Or any related social research-oriented field Experience designing and conducting research like behavioral experiments or surveys  Experience conducting qualitative research like interviews or design workshops Experience analyzing and synthesizing multiple types of data, qualitative, and quantitative  Experience presenting and explaining research to cross-functional/cross-disciplinary audiences  Ability to conduct usability tests or strong desire to learn Strong desire to learn about online retail, technology, fashion, home goods, and business to business (B2B) Nice-to-Have Qualifications UX design experience Experience with Usertesting.com or another usability testing/user research application Experience with SQL, Looker, Metabase, or similar data analysis tools Experience working in an applied social research setting such as UX, Marketing, Analytics, or Insights for a company You’ll know you’re a great fit if you’re: Curious, thoughtful, and critical. You continually ask questions about human beliefs and behavior and are unsatisfied with easy answers. You know the key to research is being unafraid to say when you don’t know, then doing what it takes to answer the question. An independent research student. You are always learning about social research and looking to evolve your skill-set. You can independently guide your own learning, adopting new tools and methods as needed. Methodical and process-oriented. You understand how to match methods to a research question and can explain why you made your decision. You know what rigorous research looks like and are also ready to adapt it to the needs of Product development and evolving timelines. Product and results oriented. You know that the research process must be quick and actionable in a fast-paced Product and Client Services business. You know how to design research plans geared towards helping Product teams create better, more user-friendly products. Comfortable with ambiguity and improvisation. You are able to immerse yourself in new industries and cultures quickly. You’re ready to define new processes and improvise when research doesn’t go according to plan. A proactive and consistent communicator. You’re always thinking about how and when to update others. You know how to anticipate what your teammates and other stakeholders need to know and find the right channel to communicate in. A storyteller and a teacher. You know research insights are only as good as how they’re shared and your audience’s understanding of your work. You know how to tell a good story across slide decks, 1-pagers, or any format that tells the story best.
