Smartsheet is looking for a dynamic and experienced Director, Sales Development to provide guidance and direction for our growing leadership team and operations. Your teams will be responsible for identifying, engaging and qualifying prospective customers as we continue to grow our inbound demand and prospecting motions.
This high-profile role reports to the Sr. Director, Sales Development who is based in the US.
You Will:
Support overall SDR org onboarding, development, and performance through various tasks and projects
Drive cross-functional collaboration while aligning to Smartsheet’s company goals
Play a key role in planning and overall execution of the SDR department
Be an active coach through call reviews and feedback sessions
Motivate individuals to succeed through impassioned leadership, coaching, creative incentives, and celebration of results
Develop incentive plans and SPIFFs to foster an environment that values competition and collaboration
Guide program and participant success; invest in the success of the team and mentor a team early in their sales career
Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of Smartsheet’s complete capabilities
Support SDRs through stages of lead engagement and qualification
You Have:
Proven track record in SAAS industry sales and leadership
5+ years of leadership experience
2+ year experience in leading front line sales managers
Demonstrated deep understanding of Sales Development operations, reporting, technologies, and cross-functional collaboration
Experience working with high-volume MQLs and inbound focused lead generation efforts and outbound sales activities.
Ability to make sound decisions based on customer trends and observations across all lines of business
Experienced, motivated, and with a “roll-up-the-sleeves” attitude
Passion for coaching and mentoring emerging sales and leadership talent
Experience giving both positive and constructive feedback
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a distributed sales team
Capability to understand customer pain points and requirements, capacity to respond with value of Smartsheet products and services

Smartsheet provides a rate of compensation for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive bonus and RSU stock grant upon accepted offer. California & New York: $114,750-$133,650 | All other US States: $106,250-$123,750.
