Collaborate with subject matter experts to gain knowledge of SmartBear products and increase your technical knowledge. Create user-friendly content that meets the needs of our target audiences. Team intro: Technical Writers at SmartBear are an integral part of the UX Design team. We write and update help documentation for the SmartBear developer-focused product portfolio. Our multinational team is currently working on a new content strategy to continuously improve our task-oriented documentation and provide a high-quality user experience for our customers. About the role: As a Junior Technical Writer, you’ll be based in our Galway office, supporting and assisting more senior writers on new and existing projects. You’ll be setting personal deadlines to align with project schedules and attending development and design meetings to learn about new product features. You’ll also ensure the correct usage of pre-defined documentation guidelines, as well as gather complex and technical information for inclusion in our documentation. Update existing technical documentation. Collaborate with the documentation team to draft user-friendly technical content. Adhere to information design and style guidelines. Edit the user guides to improve style and tone for the readers. We are looking for you if you have: Entry-level to 2 years of experience in software technical writing. Software- or linguistic-related higher education. Keen interest in developing writing and technical communication skills. Excellent command of both English grammar and written English.
