About the role Multiple vacancies Permanent employment. 40 hours per week. Mon- Fri $95,000 -$105,000 p.a + relocation package + Restricted Stock Units $52,100. The Vehicle Design Team supports the hardware design and development of Electron, Photon and related Payload and Mission objectives. The Vehicle Design team works closely with other Engineering teams and Production to bring new concepts to life. This includes the development of our vehicle and space craft systems, related data structures and documentation to support the manufacturing and performance improvement of Electron and related Space Systems. From R&D to production improvements, every day will see new problems to solve and new opportunities to leave your mark on the vehicle. As a Vehicle Design Engineer II at Rocket Lab, you will be supporting the design of the world's first mass-produced orbital launch vehicle. Given the high launch cadence of Electron, you will have unparalleled opportunities for end-to-end hardware development and seeing your designs reach space. Skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or relevant field
Minimum 3years of experience working in a design engineering role, including CAD (SolidWorks or NX preferred), EPDM, Teamcenter, or similar.
PDM experience is desirable
Ability to work on own initiative with ability to plan own daily workflow to meet higher level tasks · Experience in structuring and working with large assemblies in a multi-user environment
Proven experience in seeing products through from concept to completion in a production environment
Responsible for managing smaller development projects
Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Heavy emphasis on achievement - getting things done efficiently, effectively and to the highest quality standards
Excellent attention to detail is a must
