SolAero by Rocket Lab - Summer 2023 Internship  This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in Rocket Lab’s evolution into an end-to-end space company that delivers launch, spacecraft, and on-orbit operations. The Space Systems Division is shaping Rocket Lab’s future with Photon, our brand of high-performance satellites, enabling innovative missions in low Earth orbit and beyond including missions for NASA to LEO, the Moon, and Mars and commercial customers including leading the design and manufacture of 17 high power telecommunication spacecraft buses for Globalstar.  SolAero by Rocket Lab is a leading provider of high efficiency solar cells, solar panels, and composite structural products for satellite and aerospace applications. We are the world’s only vertically integrated, end-to-end supplier of satellite solar arrays. SolAero’s proven flight heritage, high-volume production capability, and technology position us to service the world’s most demanding satellite applications. Our space solar products have powered over 1,000 satellites in orbit to date. WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO: (3-5) As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and other employees within the department to apply your knowledge and grow your skills both technically and professionally Work with a fast-paced group of professionals to apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges! Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisor to facilitate success and learning while providing progress updates Enjoy tech talks, and network with other interns and employees through social and professional events Join our team with sole ownership of one or more high priority projects that will assess your problem solving and time management skills of applied Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical engineering. YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS: (3-5) GPA of 3.5 or above Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining after the internship 3+ months of applied engineering experience through university team/project experience, internship, or labs Important information: FOR CANDIDATES SEEKING TO WORK IN US OFFICES ONLY: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S Department of State.
