Mechanical Engineering Lead Based out of Rocket Lab's site Sinclair Interplanetary in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The mechanical lead reports to the engineering manager and is responsible for managing and developing the mechanical engineering team and achieving engineering goals and objectives while supporting other areas of the business.   WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO: Lead the mechanical and thermal design and analysis for existing and new products as well as associated ground support equipment Complete and support non-conformance reviews, root cause analysis and design changes to facilitate manufacture Support mechanical part procurement and subcontract management Support the production team and manufacturing engineer in implementing new, and improving existing, manufacturing processes Support the business development team in responding to customer inquiries Grow and develop the team alongside the wider business YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE: Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering Direct experience in designing, developing, and testing spacecraft structures and mechanisms Experience with electro-mechanical devices such as DC motors Advanced knowledge/skills in CAD modeling/drawing (SolidEdge) Experience with management and development of staff Excellent written and verbal communications skills Exceptional mechanical problem-solving skills Experience with analysis and interpretation of environmental test data (Thermal, Vibe) Ability to apply GD&T to component drawings General spacecraft systems engineering knowledge IMPORTANT INFORMATION Rocket Lab USA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
