As the Assistant Controller you will be responsible for owning and managing several month-end close and reporting processes. You will be expected to have a detailed understanding of relevant GAAP accounting standards related to your assigned accounts and processes, and will be the go-to expert in those areas. What you will be doing:
Support and help manage the monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting close processes and preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
Perform analytical procedures to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information
Assist in researching complex or unusual accounting transactions, and document the resulting accounting conclusions
Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and processes
Develop and maintain a strong accounting team through training, mentoring, managing workloads, and fosterin g a positive work environment (potential opportunity to manage team members)
Own and drive process and system improvements within assigned processes
Assist in managing the annual financial statement audit
Provide support and explanations as needed to other departments and external auditors
Assist with preparation of schedules for financial statement audit
Conduct ad hoc financial/operational analysis as required
Assist with other accounting/finance projects as necessary
What you should have:
Minimum of 5+ years accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or similar
CPA required
Public accounting experience, preferred.
Technical knowledge of relevant accounting standards for SaaS industry
Experience with NetSuite a plus
Strong aptitude and proficiency in Excel
Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
Process oriented with an appreciation for financial controls
Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Eager, quick learner with strong teamwork spirit
