About the Role:
We are seeking a working student to join our Geospatial Data Support team in Berlin. The ideal candidate will have a mix of curiosity and passion along with a drive for results. You will gain first-hand experience at geospatial data engineering, from data modeling, visualization and analysis. Your role would be to build data products and solutions such as dashboards, notebooks and visualizations for different data consumers across Planet organization in order to improve the satellite collection performance, task performance and customer satisfaction. To do this, we will need to work with origin, staged, and modeled data, and our work is heavily based on git, dbt, python, and SQL.
Impact You’ll Own:
Build metrics dashboards and maps
Build data models to transform business problems into actionable metrics
Database querying to reply to product, business or operational problems
Document data models and infrastructure
Perform data analysis to improve space missions operations
What You Bring:

Studying software or data engineering related courses
Basic SQL skills (PostGIS is a plus)
Basic experience with geospatial data tools and formats (GeoJSON, geopandas, CARTO)
Accurate and reliable working ethic

Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
Highly motivated and proactive team player who is eager to learn
Fluent in written and spoken English
