Role Overview
The SRE-Delivery team at PagerDuty is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help join our Infrastructure team in Lisbon! Our team is chartered with improving the developer experience for PagerDuty engineering, which means we are responsible for everything from our CI/CD tooling, to artifact management, to Golden Path and skeleton applications/patterns. All our customers are internal, which allows us to engage directly with the folks who are consuming our products.
On a given day, you could be working on a project to improve one of our existing CI/CD platforms and tools, or helping add a new feature to our skeleton applications, or creating a new Terraform module to help unlock new capabilities for service owners. You might be writing documentation or a guide to help service owners make better use of our internal platforms. You could be creating a new dashboard within our developer portal to track the progress of a migration. You may be working on plans and checklists as well as creating epics/tickets for an upcoming project. You could also be on-call, helping service owners troubleshoot issues via our shared Slack channel or triaging high-urgency incidents when one of our services is misbehaving.
Key Responsibilities
You partner with Engineering stakeholders to design and deliver a reliable, scalable, secure, and performant platform.
You continuously strive to improve the developer experience: Full lifecycle support (creation, development, deployment, retirement), observability, flexible connectivity, and monitoring.
As a senior SRE you will help to shape and evolve the technical stack used by our developers. You stay current on technical trends in order to suggest innovative tools and approaches to interesting problems.
As a senior SRE, you will be responsible for leading large projects and cross-team collaborative efforts. You leverage your strong communication and collaboration skills to share your expertise not only with your team but with the entire Engineering organization.
You relish mentoring other engineers and vicariously enjoying their successes. You gain satisfaction not only through individual achievements but through the accomplishments of the entire team.
You participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. And yes, we use PagerDuty to manage our on-call schedules.
