About the Team Since Opendoor first started operating in 2014, we’ve learned a lot about buying, managing, and selling real estate. The Enterprise business unit with Opendoor aims to share our learnings by offering our technology and processes to institutional single-family-home investment partners. The Enterprise team is building a modern platform for transactions, offering a wide range of services such as brokerage and title. What you should expect as a fullstack software engineer working on our Enterprise team — maximum agency, tight feedback loops with customers, and no shortage of product challenges that directly translate to business value! You will have the opportunity to design, build and ship complex workflow management systems and tools that enable the Enterprise operations team to execute at a scale that would otherwise not be possible.  Our products are built with Java, Typescript, and React. Role Responsibilities: Contributing to all phases of product development, including ideation, prototyping, and implementation Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and other programming languages as needed Partnering with product managers, designers, and data engineers to identify and solve customer pain points Support hiring and mentoring other engineers on the Enterprise team Skills Needed: A track record of approximately 3+ years building and delivering production-quality software systems Excellent communication skills — clear written and oral communication is important to our ability to operate as a remote team Demonstrated backend engineering fundamentals using Java. Frontend experience is a plus but not required. A strong sense of ownership and customer empathy — we work very closely with our internal and external customers, and maintaining positive working relationships with them is paramount to the success of our business Location: Remote roles in the US are available in all states EXCEPT Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, or any US Territories.  Compensation: The base salary range for this position in Colorado, Connecticut, Washington, and New Jersey is $144,000 - $220,000 yr, and in California and New York City is $144,000 - $220,000 yr. Base salary may vary depending on relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.
