About the role:
As a Financial Data Intern, you’ll immerse yourself in the Analytics and Tech department and get a unique experience by working on real projects that impact our day-to-day business and production. We are problem-solvers, self-directors and action-oriented thinkers so you’ll be expected to hit the ground running and own your projects, with guidance from your manager and teammates. When you’re not performing your Data Engineering responsibilities you’ll be having fun, learning professional skills and networking with the rest of Enova.
Responsibilities:
Learn the technologies, strategies and ETL techniques we use here at Enova
Develop, enhance and test our reporting pipelines to provide data to various departments across the company
Conduct ad hoc investigation and analysis to support our stakeholders
Work with senior management to develop key performance indicators (KPI's) to ensure that our products are performing optimally
Present on your project findings and results to key executives and the department at the conclusion of your internship
Requirements:
You are pursuing your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and have an expected graduation date between Winter 2023-Spring 2024.
1-3 years of previous experience in data engineering with a focus on database related technologies
1+ years of hands-on experience working with Python
Hands-on experience of SQL and database related technologies, particularly PostgreSQL.
Experience working with Cloud Data Warehouse Technologies such as Snowflake or Redshift.
Experience working with AWS RDS, Aurora, Lambda, S3, Apache Kafka is desirable.
Deep understanding of relational database modeling principles and techniques.
Deep understanding of object oriented programming methodologies and design patterns.
Exposure to architecting, designing, and implementing ETL or ELT solutions with peers and stakeholders.
Experience with ANSI SQL, SQL Server, Talend, Jenkins, GIT, Pentaho, JavaScript, bash/Linux, various non-relational / NoSQL database management systems.
Exposure to Agile methodologies.
