To achieve this mission, Olive has invested heavily in developing cloud native products in the AWS and Azure ecosystem and is seeking a highly energetic and experienced Cloud Architect to architect new solutions and enhance operations of existing cloud environments. This position will work collaboratively with other cross functional teams to provide a highly secure, resilient and scalable environment used for production and development purposes. This is an excellent opportunity for a technical leader who is able to devise a high level technical vision and turn their vision into reality. Essential Responsibilities Create system architecture and design for new solutions. Performs detailed assessment of existing solutions and provide options for optimizing and enhancing existing solutions Monitors and maintain environments hosted in AWS and Azure Develop detailed documentation for existing solutions Facilitate introduction of new technologies and establishes best practices for new and existing technologies Develop infrastructure as code and other automation. Review and approve code written by team members Troubleshoot issues with existing environments Essential Functions Partners closely with the Security teams to continuously improve security posture for the hosted environments.  Evaluate total cost of ownership of new solutions. Optimize existing solutions to reduce hosting and licensing costs.  Documents audit questionnaires and participates in audits as necessary. Creates a detailed test plan for implementation, collaborating with other engineers for a variety of scenarios. Develops new tool sets for imports, alerting and monitoring and evaluates, analyzes, and selects tools. Works with other teams to improve overall reporting. Improves, refines, and evangelizes best practices for Networking. Participate in team On Call rotation Designs, builds and troubleshoots complex VPN solutions, collaborating with engineers, customer IT and/or vendors while ensuring standards are updated/maintained. Designs and collaborates on CI/CD pipeline builds, build complex pipeline standards and templates. Shows mastery of IAC technologies. Researches and implements new IAC technologies. Lead cloud migration effortions by performing a thorough analysis of the existing environment and architect the cloud hosted solution Establishes VPN connection for a customer; collaborates with engineering teams and/or vendors to troubleshoot VPN issues. Facilitates RCA discussions across multiple teams and vendors, collaborating to identify and resolve complex solutions. Participates in technical screens of recruiting candidates. Sets up meetings with key engineers and vendors to discuss new solutions, efficiencies and best practices, ensuring feedback and often buy-in is obtained. Provides guidance and subject matter expertise, incorporating best practices using Slack, meetings and other communication methods. Other duties as assigned. Act as a subject matter expert in multiple areas Mentor more junior team members. Qualifications/KSAs 10+ years of professional experience in System or Cloud Engineering. Expert level knowledge of major cloud providers such as AWS or Azure Strong professional experience establishing best practices and acting as the subject matter expert and evangelist for these practices. Expert level understanding of infrastructure standards/patterns and options. Expert level skills in PowerShell. Expert level experience working with IaC technologies, such as Terraform, Ansible, AWS CDK, Chef, Puppet, Vagrant, SaltStack, CloudFormation, etc.. Expert level experience working with container and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS ECS/EKS, Azure AKS, OpenShift, Linkerd, Rancher, etc.. Expert level experience with at least one modern scripting language. Expert level experience with CI/CD tooling. Expert level knowledge of operating systems, networking, and software engineering fundamentals. Education/Experience Typically requires either a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and/or 10+ years of relevant experience. The estimated base salary range for this position is $124,000 - $223,000 annually. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Olive reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The base salary offered is dependent on a number of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, depth of experience, and certifications. The total compensation package for this position may also include stock options, an annual incentive bonus and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.   This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
