Niantic’s Marketing Creative Shop (“MCS”) builds excitement and interest in our games and company through eye-catching key art, video production, in-game promotions, merchandising, live-event activations, and more. The MCS team has an immediate opening for a Multimedia Artist (Contract position) focused on creating compelling videos that support Niantic's vision to build technologies that move us. The Multimedia Artist will be immersed in Niantic’s brands, style guides and design systems. Combined with a deep understanding of contemporary design trends and industry best practice, you will use your visual storytelling skills to create video content for web, social channels and events. You have a passion for crafting a world that enhances the brand experience for our audience, along with setting a high bar for quality and consistency. This is a contractor position and the work should be performed based on service agreement and SOW. Niantic will not offer Contractor direct employment contract, salary, benefits, equities, or any compensation associated with employment. Responsibilities Create short and long form video content, starting with strong concepts to storyboard, while incorporating professional skills in animation, videography, photography, and motion graphics design. Composite 3D character animations into real-world environments, ensuring seamless integration with lighting, perspective, depth of field, color correction and scale. Collaborate and brainstorm with cross-functional teams to develop engaging video content for significant Marketing beats. Take an iterative approach to present work for review to stakeholders, receive and implement feedback in a timely manner. Prepare final files in a detailed and organized manner, for efficient file delivery. Assist with on-location shoots with audio, lighting, and camera. Expert proficiency in video editing, sound, and motion design. Create versions of video that are customized for different platforms, resizing and optimizing for horizontal, square and vertical cuts. Qualifications A portfolio of work that demonstrates compelling video content, experience with photography and photo editing. Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Must have expert-level proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere. A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a visual artist. A wide range of experience with social media and web platforms, as well as their associated media requirements and performance strategies, regarding formats and aspect ratios. Proven track record of managing multiple simultaneous projects and meeting hard deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, self-motivated and receptive to feedback, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and anticipate future needs. Plus If... Experience with Unity and/or 3D design software. Photography experience is a plus. Familiarity with mobile games and/or the app development process. A gamer with familiarity and knowledge of Pokémon GO. General curiosity in Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Basic video editing and sound design in Adobe Premiere and/or Audition. The salary range for this role is $48.90 - $63.11 per hour.
