Research Associate - In-Vitro Specificity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to execute experiments related to verifying the specificity of novel gene editing systems as a member of the Genome Editing team. You will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact as you partner with the NGS team and bioinformaticians in order to advance genome editing technologies. This role will be based in Emeryville, California.   About the Role Perform experiments to test new genome editing technologies Perform in vitro molecular biology techniques to assess the specificity of enzymes and guides and then assay by NGS Generate and analyze experimental data under the direction of a research scientist and present this data in team and departmental meetings Keep accurate laboratory notebook records of each experiment, and perform other duties, as needed. Desired Qualifications  BS or MS in biology, genetics, molecular biology, or a related discipline 3+ years of research experience using molecular biology skill sets, including hands on experience with gene editing technologies Experience with next generation sequencing technologies Experience in maintaining complete experimental records Excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment  Track record of challenging oneself to enhance scientific skills and knowledge Thrives in a fast-moving, results-oriented startup environment with urgent deadlines.   The anticipated base salary range for this position will be $70,000 - $80,000 depending on the exact level of the role. As this role is open to candidates with a wide range of skills and experience, the exact salary will be dependent on the specific level of the position.
