Job Description
This is a unique opportunity for a Visual Experience Design Intern to join our Product Design team, to build the next generation of enterprise Augmented Reality solutions. Work that influences the future of business through its people—amplifying human potential with our wearable technology.
Each day, you’ll be translating our brand and product strategy into 2D and 3D user interfaces across multiple platforms with our team of designers, prototypers, developers and researchers, to define, build and iterate solutions. Setting the bar for innovative, creative and thoughtful spatial experiences.
Responsibilities
Ideate and concept: Actively participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas and concepts for AR projects. Concept innovative interactions and patterns that assist, inform and innovate, with low and high fidelity 2D or 3D visual assets for prototyping
Design craft: Support the design and craft of aesthetically-appealing, functional user interfaces and interactions for our products–with rigorous attention to detail
Design systems: Support the creation of design systems across multiple technology frameworks and platforms. Create visual guidelines and document design system components to be implemented in the team’s work-stream for design consistency
Ensure consistency: Be part of the core team responsible for high level consistency across all visual, interaction and motion experiences
Validate your work: Frequently validate fundamentals of your designs such as color, contrast, type, legibility, layout performance etc on target platforms and device. Review software implementation, ensuring execution of features with meticulous attention to detail
Work across interdisciplinary teams : Effectively work with interaction designers, product designers, industrial designers, prototypers, researchers, engineers, and product managers
Qualifications
A visually compelling portfolio, demonstrating a masterful command of the craft of visual design: typography, color, hierarchy, composition and aesthetic adaptability, across a breadth of cross-platform work
Ability to visualize concepts in order to fail fast and learn quickly
Proficiency in visual UI design using Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, or any other 3D tools. Experiences with creating concepts in Principle/ After Effects or similar software
Nice To Haves
Experience designing against the unique challenges of immersive experiences, spatial design and an understanding of the AR/VR category
Experience working in Cinema 4D, or other 3D software
Knowledge of the Unity engine
2D and 3D animation skills
Ability to think, design and apply UX/UI in real world spatial environments
Strong illustration and storyboarding
Education
BA/BS, or equivalent work experience, in Graphic/ Visual/ Interaction Design, or a similarly related subject
