About the Job
The Release Manager is responsible for releasing our Platform, Web, and Mobile apps to tens of millions of users. They will also work closely with our Architecture team to deliver internal SDKs. This position is responsible for ensuring our releases go out on time and with high quality.
This position will work closely with teams in the USA, India, and EMEA. Working hours will be 4 pm to midnight in the Pacific Time Zone.
What You’ll Do
Drive coordination among engineering teams and stakeholders and align all groups toward high-quality releases throughout the entire fast-paced release lifecycle
Identify release quality criteria and drive the quality sign-off process for each release
Manage deployment plans during production deployment, including the fielding of deployment issues, escalations, and contingencies, acting as the primary point of contact throughout the deployment execution
Communicate regular release status, post-release action items, and other release information to the Life360 internal audience.
Own any release-related communication, and maintain schedules, release landing pages, and calendar entries
Monitor the progress of phases by employing appropriate metrics and management reporting
Facilitate all release-related meetings
Continuously improve the release processes, communication, and delivery, including best practices by coordinating with the Release Management team, Build Engineers and DevOps on improvements
Drive releases of internal SDKs, Mobile Applications, Cloud, and Web products.
Coordinate with feature teams to plan and drive content for upcoming releases
Track the stages of the release and ensure all deliverables are met
Manage risk, identify release blockers, and ensure issues are driven to resolution
Streamline the upload and release mechanisms for the mobile app releases
Run post mortems for release-related incidents and identify action items to mitigate future incidents
What We’re Looking For
2 years of experience in build engineering and release management
2 years of experience with mobile apps
Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle
Expertise with Jenkins, Jira, git, Buildkite, and merge tools
Process-oriented and organized
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in Python and Automation
Experience building and using tooling
Bonus Points
Experience with Fastlane
Strong experience with DevOps practices
Formal Project Management experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
