Summary of Job :
The Student Engagement Individual Contributor (SE-IC) is responsible for recruiting new students and managing current student retention for one of our university partner programs delivered online. We're currently looking for Student Engagement Individual Contributors with fluency in Spanish.
Recruiting students for our programs will require a consultative, customer focused approach, an ability to meet challenges head-on and a passion for changing lives through high quality higher education.
This individual will also drive student engagement and retention, by owning a caseload of students for an international graduate program. They will own the outcomes of our students through a combination of high touch, consultative coaching and data-driven decision making. This role will be accountable for student retention, satisfaction, and outcomes for their students.
This role is in a position to be fully accountable for the program’s entire enrollment pipeline, student retention, student satisfaction, and outcomes leading to graduation.
Recruitment Key Role and Responsibilities:
Conducting a high quantity of international prospect phone contacts to web generated inquiries to secure weekly standard appointments
Communicating approved sales presentations to promote programs to prospective students over the telephone and other virtual platforms.
Qualifying prospective students for admission based on university admission requirements and career goal compatibility.
E-mailing correspondence to prospective students to follow up with their intent to complete an application
Conducting follow-up activity with prospective students to ensure they are able to successfully complete the admissions and enrollment process
Closely assisting and mentoring students through the admissions process
Assist students with TOEFL exams, international transcript review
Retention Key Role and Responsibilities:
Communicating directly with international students on a regular and ongoing basis to positively impact key metrics, e.g., graduation rates, student satisfaction, student retention goals, and credit generation
Manage international student retention through providing proactive, reactive, comprehensive consultative coaching and exceptional service; this position is critical in executing 2U's expected white glove service level for its students and faculty
Identifying opportunities for improvement and growth within designated international graduate program
Providing direct coaching to international students in an organization highly supportive of professional development
Identifying risks to student retention and subsequently implementing mitigation plans to promote students’ success in the program
Maintaining accountability for student outcomes

Demonstrates the ability to perform all responsibilities of an AC while taking on additional tasks and projects.
Coaches and engages with team members proactively
Takes ownership of being the subject matter expert on program knowledge both 2U related and as it relates to the university partner.
Understands the importance of organization and time management to be effective for the team
Helps to onboard, train and mentor new team members
At the direction of leadership, utilize data and reports to drive operational change and overall program improvement
Serving as main escalator of student information and as front line for crisis response
Thinking creatively and working collaboratively with 2U departments to launch and drive new initiatives from inception to implementation
Identifying and implementing efficiencies across the department which will enable programs and teams to scale quickly
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or 1-3 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Spanish/English fluency in both written and verbal communication
Experience in higher education, teaching, or sales is preferred
Previous experience leading/coaching teams in a results-oriented environment preferred
Strong sales and customer service background
Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and excellent follow through
Demonstrated ability to receive direct and constructive feedback, and respond with an attitude of a lifelong learner, always looking to exceed expectations and grow
Excellent relationship management skills
Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills required
Other Attributes That Will Help You in This Role
Familiarity with using technology in an educational setting
Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
Flexibility to work scheduled evening or weekend hours, 2-3 times a week, to support students during peak evening and weekend times
Familiarity with TOEFL exams, international transcript review, and international travel requirements (preferred)
Knowledge of Latin American university systems, processes, and procedures (preferred)
Working Conditions
This role typically works 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM with breaks throughout the day. Occasional and rare travel may be needed.
Physical Requirements
This role will primarily be sedentary using a computer, keyboard, and telephone to perform most duties.
