What We’re Looking For:
The Business Intelligence Manager leads and supports operational reporting for a number of different internal and external stakeholders in the 2U ecosystem, some of which include Marketing, Enterprise Sales, Account Management, and Platform teams. This is a data driven role requiring a quantitative orientation and design sense, with strong stakeholder management, strategy, and collaboration skills. This role will also coach and develop a team of BI Analysts to execute on the work.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Set the strategy and lead team of BI analysts to execute design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive and track the performance of key business decisions for enterprise reporting at scale. Work with executive stakeholders to set reporting roadmap priorities for long term, high complexity projects. Disseminate needs down into manageable, deliverable components of work.
Manage and develop a team of junior BI analysts.
Set organizational visualization content standards while optimizing for efficiency and scale by understanding organizational requirements for data presentation with Tableau and create recommendations for Tableau organization and infrastructure. Champion data driven decisions and data literacy across the business by supporting analyst and non-analyst users.
Support delivery and definition of new portfolio/enterprise level metrics and reporting, working with rest of Data Platform to define requirements for data warehouse enhancements if necessary
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
5+ years of relevant analytical and visualization experience in a professional setting
2+ years of experience managing and coaching junior developers
Expert level understanding of data visualization using Tableau, and experience leading and teaching others. Comfort with advanced table calculations/LOD expressions, Actions, Dynamic Filtering, and advanced formatting
Intermediate SQL and database skills (window functions, advanced joins, and sub queries)
Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role:
Knowledge of managed cloud software administration (Tableau Server)
Experience working with Infrastructure, DevOps, and Data Engineering teams
Strong business acumen and understanding of corporate strategy that can be applied to a broad spectrum of corporate functions; understanding of federal government data sets
Basic understanding of R or Python and it’s data visualization and manipulation packages
Project management skills to be able to identify the sequence of tasks and the resources needed to achieve a goal, and prioritizes key action steps for long term, high complexity projects (i.e. multiple reports spanning multiple components) while identifying and acknowledging dependencies. Utilization of project management tools such as Jira or Smartsheet
