Responsibilities
Install and maintain large industrial equipment in our lab/machine shop.
Execute standardized work based on documented operating procedures.
Create formalized standard operating procedures based on informal direction from engineers , as needed.
Work closely with engineering teams, providing continuous improvement feedback to optimize localized processes and procedures.
Support standard fabrication activities (metal fabrication, sheet metal fabrication, 3d printing, etc).
Train new team members on specialized equipment usage and lab practices.
Take ownership of the lab space and ensure safe, clean & efficient operation at all times while enabling team members to execute their work quickly.
Be able to safely handle large and heavy objects.
Be able to work on ladders or scaffoldings at height for an extended period of time if required.
** This role is full-time in office.
Experience
2+ years experience in lab technician or engineering support role.
Experience with lab metrology equipment and soldering circuits.
Experience procuring and keeping inventory of electronics parts, tools, and laboratory/shop consumables.
High attention to detail and procedural thinking.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Hands-on skills to disassemble and re-assemble electronic devices.
Must be able to work safely with minimal supervision.
Scripting skills are a plus.
Previous experience operating and maintaining a forklift is preferred but not required.
BS/BA or AS/AA or the equivalent experience in a technical discipline preferred.
