Human Interest is looking for an experienced compensation leader to serve as its Senior Director of Total Rewards, a role that is critical to the continued success and rapid growth of the company. You will report directly to our Chief People Officer, be part of the department’s leadership team, and regularly consult and collaborate with our Executive Team and Nominating & Compensation Committee.
Our Total Rewards leader will own the strategy and implementation of compensation, benefits and system programs, policies, and procedures to attract and retain a talented workforce. You will expertly use data and analytics to generate insights, while ensuring our processes drive desired business outcomes. You bring a broad spectrum of knowledge to this position from your prior work in leadership roles, including ownership of compensation management tools and systems.

Building and optimizing our job architecture that will serve as a foundation for compensation changes and reviews
Driving the strategic evolution and execution of our Total Rewards program in line with Human Interest’s strategy, culture, and operating principles to include: philosophy, job evaluation and salary surveys, salary and incentive structures, pay budgets and equity analysis
Partner with leaders in the organization to understand their specific organization's compensation needs. Design and implement cash and equity programs that suit those needs, driving towards equitable and competitive total cash and equity compensation".
Benchmark company total rewards programs and monitor external trends in order to proactively adjust company plans and programs to ensure market competitiveness
Design and recommend cutting edge benefits programs by assessing Human Interest’s needs, reviewing competitor and general industry practices, and analyzing cost impact/ effectiveness
Partner with Finance on a long-term compensation and equity strategy that is competitive in the marketplace while keeping in mind our equity pool
Manage a team that consists of a compensation analyst, benefits manager and HRIS analyst
What you bring to the role
15+ years of relevant experience in compensation (including Executive compensation), bonus structures, equity programs, and benefits planning; preferably with recent experience working in remote, high growth, rapidly evolving organizations
You have the ability to think strategically about problems as well as a knack for tactical execution; you anticipate trends in the market, “see around corners,” and proactively mitigate risk and/or maximize opportunities
You have a collaborative approach with executives and Boards of Directors, particularly the Compensation Committee
You have a comprehensive understanding of stock options, RSUs, and other equity offerings, and have built successful strategies to employ the right tools at the right time for growth companies at various stages
Advanced problem solving, process improvement and change management skills with the ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively
Data-driven with a strong ability to analyze data surface actionable insights aligned with Human Interest’s goals and objectives
You hold a bias for action, and are comfortable making decisions in the face of uncertainty and ambiguity
Strong analytical, statistical, and conceptual skills; Sheets and/or Excel expertise is strongly preferred (i.e., index match, VBA, macros, more advanced functions such as goal seek, automated error-checking, joining multiple workbooks, etc.)

Compensation - The salary range target for the role seniority described in this job description is $195,000 - $238,000 . Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, compensation/equity mix, and market data. This position may also be eligible for additional incentives such as equity awards, short-term incentives, or sales compensation.
