Role Overview
GOAT is seeking a researcher to support in ensuring a best-in-class experience by conducting thorough research into brands, products, trends and culture. Sitting on the Retail and Research Merchandising team, the researcher will gather and disseminate research that will drive merchandising and product development decision making. The right researcher will be naturally inquisitive, have a passion for digging deep into niche subject matters, and a strong understanding of how to synthesize and communicate information to a variety of audiences. A love for brands and physical products is a plus.
In this role, you will:
Conduct research that will be utilized throughout our buyer experiences, adding vital layers of depth to our storytelling capabilities
Collaborate with our product team to conduct research that will inform digital product development conversations and thinking
Leverage consumer demand analytics to identify opportunities in the product offering within the approved brand list and identify new brands to potentially add
Utilize knowledge of the GOAT customer to approve items to be added to our product catalog
Deep dive into brands, as well as current and past trends on an ongoing basis in an effort to continuously optimize the product offer
Complete cross-functional research projects on an ad hoc basis, partnering with a variety of internal departments
Synthesize and disseminate research findings to key stakeholders
Take the initiative to suggest research areas to explore further based on merchandising and product conversations
We are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree
1-3 years of experience in a qualitative role (education may be considered)
Native or fluent English required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Passionate about digging deep into a variety of subject matters
Eye for visual aesthetics
Strong attention to detail
Ability to synthesize large sets of information for a variety of audiences
Strong time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Love for physical products and brands is a plus
Background in buying / merchandising is a plus
The hiring range for this position is below, plus benefits (401K, paid time off, dental, medical, vision, disability, life insurance options). To determine starting pay within the hiring range, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, role/level, a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity.
