Design the products that make global trade easy for everyone The opportunity: The Flexport Design team designs software for Flexport’s clients, partners, and the operations teams that support them. The Flexport Design Team is seeking an excellent design leader with strong product vision to help elevate the current offering and formulate a compelling, business and research supported roadmap for the future. The individual sets a high bar for quality and knows how to help design teams effectively ship at that quality. While this leader will be chartered with improving a specific product area at Flexport, much collaboration will be required with their Design counterparts responsible for Client, Platform, Services, and Payment aspects of the experience. To achieve this goal, the Flexport User Experience (UX) team creates end-to-end experiences for our clients, partners, and operations teams. We are seeking a design leader with a strong product vision to create the offering and formulate a compelling business and research supported roadmap for the future of supply change for Small Businesses. This individual sets a high bar for UX quality and knows how to consistently execute at that level. As a key stakeholder in the product development process, much collaboration will be required with Senior Leadership and the broader UX team. To be successful, this leader must be relentlessly curious, embrace change, think deeply, and communicate clearly. Join us as we lay the foundation of our vision for global trade. As a Senior Manager for Product Design, you and your team will drive the end-to-end user experience across the small business set of offering. You will develop mobile and desktop  solutions, that will allow for a simple and fun way to manage the logistics needs of small businesses. You will: Lead the design for Flexport's Small Business customers suite of products Help formulate the product vision for your product area. Create an environment of data inspired design, running exploratory and validation user research. Oversee the development of the mobile design system. Hire, coach, and mentor excellent product designers. Inspire your team to push the boundaries towards innovation. Help designers collaborate with their Product, Engineering, Data and Business counterparts. Be a strong partner to your Product, Engineering, Data and Business peers. Align team priorities and deliverables to the company’s overall strategic goals. Collaborate closely with your Design peers at Flexport to ensure we create a consistent and cohesive overall product. Help evolve our current product design to align with Flexport’s brand in collaboration with the Brand Team.  Help elevate Flexport’s Design community, culture, and processes. You should have: Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience, of which 3+ years is in management. Demonstrated long term thinking around strategic and business focused activities. Experience in designing for consumer goods.  Will have shipped many successful software products, ideally both desktop and mobile. Extensive experience managing and utilizing user research and data science to leverage respective insights. Will have managed and mentored individual contributors.  Proven ability to provide thought leadership and guide a team towards achieving a common goal Experience managing geographically distributed teams is a plus. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The US base salary range for this full-time position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.) $190,440 — $211,600 USD
