Enterprise Experience Engineering:
Flexport’s mission is to make global trade easy for everyone.
Flexport’s enterprise experience team works to solve the most complex logistics problems faced by our large customers. We automate the management of large purchase orders end to end, from the manufacturing plants to trade routes to warehouses around the world. We deliver supply chain insights to our customers to help improve inventory efficiency, reduce supply chain cost and increase speed.
You will:
Build Enterprise focused experiences that manage large supply chains from end to end.
Deliver reports, analytics and insights to improve customer’s supply chain management.
Connect with enterprises through APIs and enterprise resource planning systems.
Build a suite of platform services to enable experiences and core functionality.
Design systems that represent the real-world intricacies of logistics entities, such as purchase orders, cargo, routing, customs, and pricing.
Craft the architectural strategy, and own the technical landscape, for a major domain in the world of logistics that powers global trade.
Work closely with business partners and product managers to distill complex business problems into elegant technical solutions.
Build and launch products rapidly and incrementally. We ship to production dozens of times per day.
Geek out about shipping and logistics. (We do this often.)
You should have:
15+ years of experience writing software (including management).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
A love of simple, scalable architecture and well tested code that is easy to extend and hard to break.
The ability to create innovative solutions to solve complex problems, understand technology tradeoffs, and build iterative processes to perfect the product/market fit.
Proven track record of building and scaling successful commercial products.
Demonstrated ability to build, grow and mentor engineering teams. Proven track record of managing successful teams.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operations.
The ability to convey technical ideas in common terms to business partners, product managers, designers, and engineers alike.
A bias for action. When you see a problem, you solve it.
A desire to develop your tooling repertoire. We are tech-agnostic regarding candidate background, but our platform is built with Ruby, Java, and JavaScript.
Our stack:
Our continuous releases are integrated with Buildkite and Github. On the frontend, we create our views with React + Next.js, manage the flow of data with GraphQL/Relay, and test our application with Jest. On the backend, we’re in the process of decoupling our monolithic Rails app into a Micro Services architecture, primarily on JVM languages (Java and Kotlin). Our data is persisted in the right store for the job, typically Postgresql or MongoDB. Our stack is hosted on AWS using Kubernetes.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.
The US base salary range for this full-time position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.) $266,700 — $296,350 USD
