The Solutions Consulting team, within Flexport’s Demand & Commercial Business Unit, is responsible for driving the technical onboarding of our customers and their logistics/technology partners. This team helps our customers realize the full potential of the Flexport Platform by integrating it within our customer’s end to end supply chain processes and technology ecosystem. This team coordinates closely with Sales, Account Management, Global Operations, Integrations Engineering, and Product Engineering teams, representing our customer’s needs, ensuring the successful deployment, ongoing utilization and stability of the integrations and automation capabilities they deliver.  The Opportunity: The Director, Solution Consulting is a strategic delivery-focused role with the skills and experience to coach, manage and grow the Solutions Consulting team. In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer-facing and technical skills of your team. The ideal candidate will have past hands-on experience working in senior technical pre-sales or post-sales roles, and also have demonstrated success leading such a team, having the ability to mentor the team as a player-coach.= The ideal candidate would also need to have demonstrated the ability to define and implement mature processes and best practices, that would help the team scale and manage a rapidly growing influx of customers needing the team's bandwidth for integrations and technical onboarding, which is often a prerequisite for the clients to start shipping with Flexport. Having prior experience in the supply chain space would be hugely beneficial, with bonus points for exposure to global logistics. You will: Manage and grow a team of highly skilled Solutions Consultants that help our clients achieve their integration and automation goals with Flexport using a combination of integration technologies (APIs, EDIs, connected apps, etc..), and logistics operational processes.  Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Consultants from internal and external sources in Flexport locations across US, Europe and China. Help team members develop their careers by coaching / mentoring them on best practices, solution selling, relevant technologies, presentation and communication skills. Build strong partnerships with Sales and Operations, managing prioritization and resource allocation, ensuring the highest level of responsiveness and successful solution delivery from pre-sales through go-live, and post go-live enhancements.  Establish clear input and output Metrics with monthly/quarterly/annual targets for your team and manage your team’s performance towards them. Publish clear SLAs for your team’s deliverables and measure adherence towards them. Partner closely with Demand & Integration Engineering teams to implement tools, accelerators, and new integration capabilities needed to accelerate successful customer onboarding. Acts as a conduit and liaison between our customers and various Product teams across BUs. Ensure product gaps and limitations are well socialized and effectively prioritized on an ongoing basis within their respective development roadmaps, while also bringing feedback from Product roadmaps to customer conversations, effectively setting and managing customer expectations. Drive the development and socialization of internal and external facing documents, presentations, how-to guides, FAQs and best practices guides. You should have: Minimum 3 years of experience directly managing and growing a geographically diverse customer facing solutions consulting or similar team. Minimum 10 years of customer facing consulting experience in Techno-Functional roles such as Solutions Consulting, Solutions Architecture or similar. History of successfully managing technical consulting and implementation engagements with medium to large sized enterprises in a leadership role, putting in effective processes and best practices to manage resource allocation and intake pipeline from discovery through successful delivery at scale. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with business and technical executives. Ability to manage competing priorities and customer escalations with poise and grace, setting the bar for your team on how to best navigate and handle tough conversations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training. The US base salary range for this full-time position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.) $215,478 — $269,348 USD
