Echodyne is seeking a Senior Antenna Engineer to join our fast-growing team. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, analyze, and evaluate complete MESA antenna systems, combining a range of tools including full-wave solvers (HFSS), MATLAB models, analytical models, and experimental data. Take ownership of complete MESA design cycles from concept through design fabrication and testing. Perform theory-analytic studies of MESA and its architectures, and use insights gained from previous work and relevant literature to identify paths to improve performance and manufacturability. Integrate with Manufacturing to understand manufacturability requirements, and support transition of research MESA concept prototypes through design for manufacture. REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE Extensive experience in designing, fabricating, and testing electronically-scanned antenna arrays at frequencies over 10 GHz. This should include understanding theory of operation, manufacturing options and challenges, and typical utilization scenarios. Solid background in electromagnetics and antenna theory, with ability to derive models of new and existing structures from first principles. Familiarity with conventional antenna measurement techniques, in both the near- and far-field. Ability to work logically and efficiently in a fast-moving technical environment with tight milestone schedules. DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE  (Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)   Strong scientific coding skills, including familiarity with MATLAB. Experience designing multi-layer printed circuit boards for microwave antennas. Eligibility to handle export-controlled data (ITAR, EAR). QUALIFICATIONS PhD in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or Physics, with 4+ years designing electronically-scanned antennas. BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or Physics, with 10+ years designing electronically-scanned antennas.
