About the role: Demandbase is looking for a senior-level Agile Coach contractor. Demandbase is growing as is the number of Scrum teams. We’re on a journey towards “Self Managed” Scrum teams (without having an external dedicated Scrum Master). This will allow current TPMs (currently playing the Scrum Master role) to take the ownership of Annual/Quarterly planning, ensuring we are on track to meet our OKRs and run cross functional programs. You’ll be providing agile coaching to TPMs, Engineering & Product teams and help achieve engineering productivity/predictability OKRs. You will coach teams on various aspects of the Agile development and delivery process, leveraging Scrum, lean, Kanban, SAFe, and DevOps principles and practices, with practical guidance.  We’re looking for a full-time remote contractor to start as soon as possible. The predicted length of this engagement is up to 12 months and reports to the VP of Program Management. What you’ll be doing: Enable the adoption and optimization of Agile principles and methodologies (Identify, evaluate and recommend process & tool improvement opportunities across the engineering and product management efforts and guide in implementation initiatives) Coach and mentor ScrumMasters, Product Owners, Agile teams, Technical Program Managers and management to enhance release planning, agile ceremonies, continuous integration and continuous delivery practices. Assess the agile maturity of the organization and advice how individual teams can increase their agile maturity levels. Advises on key Iteration (Product Increment, Sprints, etc.) practices, on how to effectively and pragmatically teach teams how to break work into small features and user Story backlogs and groom for the next product increment or sprint Guide Release Train Engineers (RTEs), TPMs on cadence and synchronization at the Program and Team Level to improve effectiveness of progress towards the iteration or increment goals Transferring knowledge and helping teams continuously reflect and improve, becoming more effective in their roles and increasing the outcome, collaboration, and quality practices Demonstrates and shares experiences and observations with all team members to ensure best practices are being used and recommends process improvement Able to write new methodologies and development practices and will help to implement those Regularly collect feedback from the development team and improve current processes and practices Facilitate agile education workshops for group agile adoptions or other education needs in alignment with our customer’s best practices Encourage and promote established engineering practices like unit testing, pair programming, test-driven development, and continuous integration What we’re looking for: Experiencing implementing SAFE, Scrum, Kanban, Lean principles 10+ years’ experience leading large projects, transformation efforts, process improvements, product implementations, systems development and integration efforts Must have experience in scaling agile at an enterprise level Ability to coach and mentor the team to reach their potential Demonstrates initiative by anticipating risks, issues and opportunities, and escalating them accordingly Enabling programs/portfolio success by applying agile practices­ & providing hands on coaching & support Must have experience managing projects on a large scale with several teams / stakeholders. Must be able to present a detailed assessment of how challenges are identified in agile teams with supporting data and propose coaching improvements/action plans during the interview phase.
