Change.org is seeking an Accountant to support the Finance team’s day-to-day operations and provide accurate financial information to stakeholders.

This position will take primary responsibility for the company’s Accounts Payable (AP) functions. Secondly, you’ll provide support on all aspects of our accounting work, such as balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close activities and financial reporting, cash management, and other special projects as needed.
This role will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and is based in the US. Our team looks into challenges that the company faces and solves them with a systematic process-oriented approach. We need a problem solver who can think critically about our internal processes and drive long-term solutions for the company. You’ll work alongside other super talented individuals that will inspire and challenge you to think about how accounting can contribute to the business decisions.
As a member of our team, you will:
Manage the full Accounts Payable cycle by reviewing and processing invoices
Identify and execute process improvements to improve the Finance team’s productivity
Provide timely and accurate accounting information to users/vendors on an ad hoc basis
Own balance sheet reconciliation tasks

Knowledge of Accounting Principles: comprehension of the set of rules, guidelines, and standards that govern the preparation, presentation, and reporting of financial information, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and comparability
Target background/experience:
2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience with strong knowledge of GAAP, including basic accounting operations, cash reconciliations, accruals, prepaid, balance sheet reconciliations
2+ years of AP experience
Additional experience we are looking for:
Experience working in a start-up environment.
Experience with the tools we primarily use: Accrualify and Netsuite (or equivalent ERP)

Our team is high impact, low ego, and has an amazing culture! Change.org is a global company, and salaries are adjusted for cost of labor in each city. For example, the annual salary of an Accountant is $97,500 USD in San Francisco and New York City and would be $92,500 USD in Seattle and DC.

30 minute take home assignment
30 minute interview with a Recruiter
45 minute interview with our Senior Accounting Manager
1 hour 30 minutes of interviews with our Senior Accountant, Director of International Finance, and Senior Director of FP&A
